What We Do
In the spring of 2010
we kicked off our International "Blankids" campaign. It involved American kids
in making blankets for orphaned children worldwide (specifically, for children
living in orphanages in the country of Georgia). In "Blankids" we teach children
how to make two-layered blankets tied up at the ends (no sewing involved).
We are proud to report that in the spring of 2010 three hundred and three (303)
middle school children participated in the probgram (which resulted in 303
blankets). Once the blankets were delivered to the country of Georgia, we received
heart-warming thank-you letters and photographs of Georgian kids holding our
blankets and smiling from ear to ear. The letters and photographs were passed
along to participating schools. Through these efforts we've made a lot of kids
happy, including the ones on the American side. In doing so, we've succeeded in
our mission of Children Helping Children!
At Children Helping Children, International, we are working to establish not
only humanitarian support, but also emotional and social support to
disadvantaged children worldwide. In this light, children send letters, notes,
and illustrations back and forth. We hope to foster long lasting relationships
and connections through "Blankids".
After such positive feedback on both sides of the ocean we are continuing "Blankids"
campaign for the 2011 school year. Email to us or call to enroll your group in
this campaign today.
